Carolyn Grant

I was born in Suffolk but spent most of my childhood in Plymouth, Devon. I have always loved drawing and painting and from a very young age I can remember doodling faces and eyes on scraps of paper.

I have used different media over the years, starting off in watercolours then moving on to oils. For the past few years though I have worked in pastels and really enjoy this medium. Having done many art evening courses over the years I finally got to go to Art College to study Art and Design properly in 1993.

My inspiration comes from people; faces, smiles, eyes and smooth beautiful skin. The beauty of the female form stirs feelings of the magical and mystical inner essence of the physical body and inspires me to paint angels and fairies.
