Grace Gilpin

Grace was born in Gilling West in 1960 and grew up drawing, painting and reading. After studying Graphic Design (Harrogate), Fine Art (Sunderland), and Printmaking (Chelsea School of Art), she undertook various jobs, mostly art related, until finally settling back in Yorkshire and setting up an Art and Craft Supply Shop and Framers in Richmond, with husband Alan.

Grace's inspirational watercolours express a strong feeling for light and texture. She uses sweeping broad washes to create a bold statement often enhanced with metal leaf and mixed media.

Her paintings assault the viewer with a passionate vision of our ever changing, emotive landscape.
