Kate Green
Kate's still-life work strives to capture atmosphere in a way that draws the viewer into the painting to experience a frozen moment in time. She also seeks to acknowledge the fleeting nature of time in the Vanitas tradition, which is as relevant to life today as ever. Working only directly from life, the emphasis is upon enjoying the moment, with a gentle reminder that nothing lasts forever!
With a First Class Honours Degree in Art History and Philosophy of the Arts, Kate shows her work 4 times a year at the British Watercolour Society (B.W.S.) National Exhibition at the Winter Gardens, Ilkley. She was elected a full member of the B.W.S. in May 2003 and is honoured to have painted a picture for the cover of the B.W.S. Christmas Exhibition Catalogue in 2003. Kate is consistently voted into the “Top Ten” artists by visitors and buyers during the 9 days of the exhibition and won first prize in June 2004 followed by three consecutive second prizes.
Her work hangs in many venues and galleries throughout the North of England, in particular -
