Liz Morton
I recently left Northumbria University, where I was studying childcare, to focus on my art. I have returned to Richmond where I grew up. I studied at Richmond school where I gained my A-Level in Art. As long as I can remember art has always been a passion of mine and I am always doing something, whether it be photography or sketching or working on a canvas.
I like to work with acrylics on canvas and my work tends to be more realistic than abstract. I also use 'Photosuite' on my computer to create the grounding for pieces such as 'Marilyn' and other works I have created that are of a similar look. 'Marilyn' was inspired by a photographic print I own of Marilyn Monroe. But I can be inspired by anything, a photograph or postcard, a solitary flower growing in the most unlikely place!
I also take photographs now and then. I like to photograph water, and because of the amazing surroundings of where I live, I have the opportunity to capture amazing compositions of all types of water and rock formations.
Work by Liz can be seen at King St Art in Richmond.
