Margaret Barry

Margaret Barry was born in Darlington, then lived in Richmond until she was 17 years old. Then in 1945 just after the war had finished she moved to Liverpool to go to teacher training college.

Here she took her City of Guilds in Photography. It wasn't until 1988 before she moved back to her favourite town, Richmond.

Inspired by, and constantly assessing colours, Margaret has been drawing and painting for as long as she remembers.

Margaret is also featured on this website as a successful children's book writer in the Authors section.
