Celebrate Richmondshire’s Green Ideas (17 Mar 2010)
The Richmondshire Green Awards are under way for the second year running and entries are starting to come in.
There are four categories for Business, Sustainable Tourism, Youth and Education, and Community Groups or individuals. The awards, run by the Local Strategic Partnership Green Group, will recognise and publicise the hard work of organisations, businesses and individuals who, over the past twelve months, have demonstrated an active commitment to good environmental practice and promoted sustainable development.
To nominate a group or individual application is really simple. Just write about your project on up to three sides of A4 and submit the application marked Green Awards to RSVCI, Springwell House, Frenchgate, Richmond, DL10 4JG, or by email to rsvci@aol.com by Wed 31st March.
Examples would include ideas that were concerned with climate change, recycling, waste minimisation, nature conservation and green transport. A panel of experienced judges will look at all the entries. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners and the prize giving will be later in the year.
