Richmond Women's Institute

Richmond WI meets in the church hall behind St Joseph and St Francis Xavier Church, Newbiggin, DL10 4DT, on the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m.  There is no meeting in August.  We usually have a speaker at the start at the meeting, followed by refreshments.  We then give out details of any up-coming activities.

In addition to the  meeting, we have a needlecraft afternoon,  a walking group and a Mah Jong evening each month and organise other events as requested by members.

Visitors are welcome without charge for a couple of meetings, so prospective new members can see what Richmond WI is about.

Annual membership for 2017 is £39.00, but new members joining throughout the year pay a pro rata rate, depending when they join.

The regular Mah Jong evening will  take place on Monday 26th June at 7 p.m. in the Conservative Club in Newbiggin.  The Craft Group will meet at Margaret's home.  The Walking Group hope to be out and about on Wednesday 12th July.

A Poetry Evening has been arranged for Monday 3rd July.  The subject is "Food", so hunt out any poems that relate (however loosely) to the subject.

July Meeting

On Monday 10th July, Helen McCue will explain the benefits of acupuncture, and also demonstrate how it is carried out

Details of the Federation visit to Denman College in May next year are now available, including courses in patisserie, researching your family tree, various crafts and visits to arts and crafts gardens.

Thank you to everyone who supported our coffee morning in Richmond Town Hall on Saturday 17th June.

Cynthia Wilcox is raising funds for Denman College, holding an open house/coffee morning on Tuesday 4th July from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at 8 High Riding.  Everyone is welcome.  There will be a raffle, a plant stall and book sale, plus a cake stall.
