The ROTARY CLUB OF RICHMOND was established in 1955 and currently has some 38 members drawn across a wide spectrum of the Richmond and district business community.
We are looking to expand membership, so if you're interested in joining Richmond Rotary Club, we invite you to make contact with our secretary, and arrange for you to visit.
The club's members meet on a regular weekly basis to enjoy each other's fellowship and discuss ways to serve others. Generally, the second Tuesday of each month is a "business meeting", and on other Tuesdays we have a speaker.
We involve ourselves with the local community and particularly look to support projects with strong local connections - with youth and the schools, with the aged and the handicapped and with support for the hospices. The club also participates in the broader aims of the Rotary movement in the promotion of international programmes to improve literacy, good health and clean water supplies.
Over the past year Richmond Rotary Club has maintained its successful record in raising money for a wide range of local, national and international charitable causes.
Local projects to benefit from monetary donations have included:
Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team
Yorkshire Air Ambulance
St Teresa's Hospice
Richmond Heart Support Group
Richmond Youth Rugby
Swale Valley Initiative
If you are a Rotarian visiting the area, you will be made welcome at one of our meetings. We meet every Tuesday at 7.00pm at Richmondshire Cricket Club, Hurgill Road, Richmond, DL10 4AR
