- Marrick Priory
Practical Support
In addition, Rotary Club members have provided practical support to the community in a number of ways. A free concert of musical variety was held for senior citizens, this now annual event has been hosted by the Rotary Club for each of the last 20 years and is eagerly anticipated by all. In conjunction with the Stroke Association’s Stroke Awareness week, a blood Pressure Test station was set up for a day in Richmond Town Hall. The public were invited to come in and have their blood pressure monitored and enjoy a cup of coffee served by our President and other Rotarians. Members were also busy this year helping to paint the railings around the skateboard park, putting wood preservative on the seats in the Friary rose garden and helping with the gardening at Marrick Priory.
One of the most successful events, organised in conjunction with other Rotary Clubs in the district, was Technology Tournament held at Catterick Garrison. More than 300 school children took part and enjoyed the challenge of designing and building a working model to launch a “space capsule”.
If you are a Rotarian visiting the area, you will be made welcome at one of our meetings. We meet every Tuesday at 7.00pm at Richmond Golf Club, Bend Hagg, Richmond
