Find out what your antiques and collectibles are worth at this free drop-in event run by Thomas Watson's auction house.


It provides an ideal opportunity for people to find out more about a whole range of contemporary or antique objects, including silver, ceramics, glass, pictures, sculpture or other collectibles.

While there is no obligation at all attached to the valuations, anyone wishing to sell an item will be given the option to have it included in the next relevant auction at Thomas Watson’s Darlington saleroom.

This is a drop-in event and there is no need to make an appointment.

Learn how to create a stunning urn arrangement.

A Spring Concert with Muker Silver Band and The Military WAGS choir
Venue: St Mary’s Church

Muker Silver Band and the Military WAGS Choir, Catterick Garrison are performing jointly in a Spring Concert.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to hear both groups perform together and separately some of their favourite songs.

The doors will open at 7pm, with the concert starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8 in advance and £10 on the door. Children are free, although they do still need a ticket.

How far would you go to win a bet? Egged on by a cynical friend, two young men make a foolish wager on whose girlfriend will be the more faithful. What starts as a silly game quickly escalates into something more troubling, as all four lovers begin to question just how serious their relationships really are. Things really begin to heat up when a double wedding is announced, but just who will be marrying whom?

Heritage Opera makes its first visit to The Georgian Theatre Royal with Mozart’s pithy morality tale, full of beautiful music and unforeseen moral dilemmas.

This performance is sung in English by a cast of six professional singers, accompanied by piano.

Handel's Messiah sung by Richmondshire Choral Society with orchestra and excellent soloists, conducted by Edward Seymour in St Mary's church

Richmondshire Choral Society give its 4 yearly, Spring performance of what many regard as the greatest choral work of all.
The soloists have been personally selected by Edward Seymour, who is himself a talented solo singer, and the performance uses a professional orchestra with Andrew Christer as organ/harpsichord continuo.

An evening with BRIT Award-winning singer/songwriter Beverley Craven.

Beverley Craven became a household name in the early 90's with the release of her self-named debut album, which sold more than two million copies worldwide. Her 1991 single, 'Promise Me', went on to become a huge hit across Europe, followed by a string of chart successes, including 'Memories', Holding On', 'Woman To Woman' and 'Love Scenes'.

Her 2017 UK tour will feature songs from her most recent album ‘Change of Heart’ alongside the earlier classics. An emotional, humorous and highly entertaining evening is in store, with witty narrative and unforgettable melodies.

An evening with 'celebrity' comedian Joel Dommett.

Joel Dommett is one of the fastest rising stars on the UK comedy circuit and a recent contender in the popular reality TV series 'I’m a Celebrity……Get Me Out of Here!'

Following the fantastic reviews he received for his debut solo Edinburgh show 'Neon Hero' in 2011, he went on to become the face of MTV, presenting their daily news bulletins. He also hosted 'Live in Chelsea', a live discussion show revolving around the events of the popular reality Channel 4 show 'Made in Chelsea'; and appeared in the first two series of the hugely successful 'Impractical Jokers' (BBC3) . Joel has since performed stand-up on 'Russell Howard’s Good News' on BBC3 and has numerous acting credits to his name, including BBC2’s 'Popatron' and 'Skins' on E4.

Introduction to Beekeeping

A 2-day Introduction to Beekeeping course. A weekend on the theory of beekeeping combined with practical 'hands-on' experience.

The Richmond and District Beekeepers' Association (RDBKA) is holding an Introduction to Beekeeping course at Foxglove Covert for those who fancy trying their hands at beekeeping.

No experience needed. A spot of basic theory in the morning and practical sessions, handling bees in the afternoon (weather dependent).

Cost £50 or £80 per couple.

Places are limited, closing date for applications is 15 May 17. Book via Secretary RDBKA; the booking form is on the RDBKA website.

Cinderella

Vienna Festival Ballet presents the classic tale of Cinderella - one of the best-known rags-to-riches fairy tales of all time.

A mistreated young girl, a glass slipper, two comical ugly step-sisters and a handsome prince combine to make the perfect piece of story-telling.

Based on the traditional story, Vienna Festival Ballet’s production of Cinderella will reach out and touch everyone’s heart, with its combination of pure classical dancing and a hint of pantomime.

The music contains a collection of Rossini’s most famous operatic achievements and has been especially arranged for Vienna Festival Ballet. Choreography by Sheila Styles.
