Shakespeare's Globe on Tour
Venue: The Georgian Theatre Royal
Time: Various
See 1 of 3 of the Bard’s most popular plays performed by the world-famous Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. But which one will it be?

In Shakespeare’s day, when a company went on tour, a small group of actors would juggle a variety of roles in three or four plays from their extensive repertoire. The final choice of play would be left to the most powerful person of the household.

Following this tradition, the Globe Theatre is sending out a company of eight talented actors who will offer three plays to the most powerful person in the household, which in this case is the audience.

You will be asked to decide between three Shakespeare classics - The Merchant of Venice, The Taming of the Shrew and Twelfth Night. The curtain will go up and the most popular choice will be performed.

Join us for an unforgettable experience with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on Tour who are making a very welcome return visit to The Georgian Theatre Royal. Live theatre really doesn’t get more exciting than this!

Performances are Thursday 5 July at 7.30pm, Friday 6 July at 2.00pm and 7.30pm, Saturday 7 July at 2.00pm and 7.30pm and Sunday 8 July at 6.00pm.

Tickets from £11 to £26 are available from the Box Office on 01748 825252 or via the online booking service.

St Mary's Got Talent
Venue: St Mary’s Church
Time: 7pm (doors open 6.30pm)
No judging, no prize - just a great night out. Do please book the date and come to support if not perform!

As you may know, we have a shortfall this year in our funding of St Mary’s commitments and the fund raising committee thinks we should have some fun whilst raising money! Amongst other events, we are having a ‘St. Mary’s Got Talent‘ evening on July 14th, where we will be entertained by some of the huge number of talented people in our congregation (and maybe their friends too).

We already have singers, musicians and readers lined up, but are looking for even more talent! If you would like to take part, please let Wendy Pritchard know (01748 850854 or email wendypritchard@btinternet.com). We’re also going to be showing pictures of talented people who are not stage performers – painters, knitters, embroiderers, cake makers, woodworkers etc – so please let Wendy know if you’d be prepared to have your picture taken for this. Please don’t be shy – St Mary’s needs you!

(Tickets (on the door) will be £7 per adult to include wine and cake and under 18s will be £2.
Doors will open at 6.30pm and transport will be available on the night.)

Traditionally, the winner of Britain's Got Talent gets to perform in front of the Royal Family at the Royal Variety Performance. They also get a cash prize of £250,000. This isn’t going to happen here – no judging, no prize - just a great night out. Do please book the date and come to support if not perform!

An evening of wit, wisdom, high drama, low comedy, and hilarious name-dropping.

“Very funny.” Sunday Times

“A dead-pan comic to rival Jack Dee.” Daily Telegraph

“Brilliant. A serious talent for making people laugh.” Daily Mirror
