An exhibition and silent auction featuring over one hundred donated pieces of art

Have you ever wondered what sort of pictures other people hang on their walls? During the month of February, you can find out.

The Station, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, is staging an exhibition of donated works of art from private collections for a special show, where you are invited to view these pieces and bid on them, in what promises to be the longest silent art auction to have taken place in living memory.

An impressive collection of work has been assembled from many well-known artists, actors, broadcasters, politicians and musicians. These include contributions from or by, Prince Charles, Damien Hirst, Sam Taylor Wood, Maureen Lipman, MackenzieThorpe, Sir Ben Kingsley, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Joe Cornish, The Bishop of Ripon, Sir Michael Parkinson, Jah Wobble, William Hague and Karl Jenkins, to name but a few.

You can visit The Station to see Wall to Wall in person or you can view the entire show online at www.wall-to-wall-art.com. Final bids for the auction must be received by 5pm on Sunday, 28th February.

Adam Walker is a star! He made his Proms debut in 2008 and, at the age of 21, has just been appointed as Principal Flute with the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This spring we creep down old-time Fleet Street for the tale of demon barber Sweeney Todd. Wrongly imprisoned by a corrupt judge, Sweeney returns from transportation vowing revenge for being taken from his wife and daughter. But when others get in his way - and end up dead - his landlady proposes a plan to safely dispose of them *and* make some money. Anyone care for a pie...?
Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by Hugh Wheeler, adapted by Christopher Bond, originally directed by Harold Prince.

Venue: Meet at Yorke Square Car Park

A rare opportunity to visit a hidden gem of Richmond: 37 acres of Heritage Landscape (registered with English Heritage Parks and Gardens) and Site of Importance for Nature Conservation, with three nationally scarce Pennine Dales flower-rich hay meadows. The walk is short, but there is some ascent. With guidance from a garden historian and other experts, we will finish at the top of Newbiggin, Richmond in plenty of time for lunch before the afternoon events. No dogs, please.
