As well as telling some more up-to-date "scary stories", Rhoda also imparts a wealth of information about the town.

While carrying out research for the walks Rhoda discovered that she had some family parallels with Frances I' Anson, (the Sweet lass of Richmond hill) whose Mother came from Arkengarthdale, as did Rhoda, and her Mother's maiden name was Hutchinson, as was Rhoda's. Were they distantly related?
Rhoda has varied experience in storytelling - 3 years ago she gained funding from the Arts Council to set up "Stories in the Park" taking her stories to nearly 2,000 people up and down the dales area. She has been resident storyteller at the Countryside Museum at Hawes for the last 2 years and has enjoyed working in schools and car homes for the elderly. One of her favourite jobs was working for the National Trust with Trusty the hedgehog.

Whilst on an assignment in Richmond Castle in 2006, a local photographer took this photograph of inside the 12th century keep. There was no one at the base of the staircase when the photograph was taken, but back in his studio the photogrpher discovered this mysterious shadowy figure on the image....
The walk will take 1 hour 15 minutes and is suitable for all ages. The walks take place during August on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Other times and dates can be arranged by appointment - please contact Rhoda on 01748 818156 or mobile 07775618472.
Rhoda has CRB clearance, Public Liability Insurance and is a member of the Society of Storytelling.
