Jewellery, Art and Antiques Valuation Day in Richmond
Wednesday, Jan 23, 2013
Antiques experts from one of the North’s leading auction houses will be offering free valuations to anyone wanting to find out how much their antiques are currently worth at a special event in Richmond.
Addisons auctioneers is hosting the event for the first time in the Richmond office of its estate agency division on King Street on Tuesday 5 February.
Expert valuers from the auction house will be available to advise on all manner of contemporary and antique objects, including jewellery, silver, ceramics, glass, pictures and sculpture. While this is a free service and there is no obligation to sell, any objects valued on the day will have the option to be included in the next relevant sale.
Addisons introduced valuation days at its Barnard Castle saleroom a couple of years ago and they have proved so popular that the auction house has decided to organise the event in Richmond to enable people from the town and surrounding area to access the same expert service.
“These ‘Antiques Roadshow-style’ events are great fun and you never know what will be brought through the door,” said Richard Edwards, Senior Auctioneer and Valuer at Addisons.
“They also provide an excellent opportunity for people to find out the value of an object whether or not they then want to go on and sell it. Often people are very surprised by the value of some of the items that they have in their home, especially if they have been passed down through the generations.”
“If people do want to sell any items then our estimates on the day are used as a guide price at auction. If the piece doesn’t reach its desired price then it doesn’t have to be sold so there is no risk to the seller. It is a really good incentive to have a clear-out of unwanted possessions and hopefully raise some money at the same time,” he added.
Valuations on the day are by appointment only so please call Addisons on 01833 690545 or email: email@example.com to arrange a time.
