A brand new adaptation of an old classic will be performed at Richmond's theatre this month. Thunder Road, in association with Harrogate Theatre, are bringing The Count of Monte Christo to the Georgian Theatre Royal.
Edmond Dantes is sentenced to a lifetime behind bars when jealous friend Fernand betrays his faith and leaves him for dead. Helpless and imprisoned within the impenetrable fortress of the Cheateau D’if, he must somehow find the strength within him to win back his freedom and his life.
Alex Morgan and Scott Hodgson bring fresh verve and physicality to The Count of Monte Cristo. Deception, escape and a thirst for retribution collide in this swashbuckling production.
A company that breaths fresh life into home grown adaptations of classic cult novels, Thunder Road are a young and exciting theatre company committed to producing theatre that can be enjoyed by audiences of all ages.
"Thunder Road's dynamic performance style puts them at the forefront of artistic talent. A company to watch," said Kevin Jamieson of Harrogate Theatre.
The Count of Monte Christo is at the Georgian Theatre Royal on Thursday 16th May 2013 7:30pm. For tickets and more information please contact the Box Office on 01748 825252.
