Richmond Holiday Lodges Shortlisted in UK's Biggest Tourism Awards
Wednesday, Jul 10, 2013
A luxury lodge development on the outskirts of Richmond has been shortlisted for one of the biggest tourism awards in the UK for the second time.
Brompton Lakes, a development of twenty 5* Gold eco-lodges set around two lakes, is in the final of the self-catering category of the White Rose Awards, having previously been shortlisted in 2009.
The selection comes as the destination has just celebrated being awarded the Trip Adviser Certificate of Excellence for the second consecutive year. This award is only given to places that have received overwhelmingly positive customer feedback on the popular review site.
Founder Roy Stephenson said: “We’ve been continuing to enhance the beauty and facilities at Brompton Lakes since we opened and I’m really pleased that the quality of what we offer here has been recognised with this place in the final, hot on the heels of the Trip Advisor Excellence award. I know the competition is really tough and so being shortlisted is testament to the unique experience that Brompton Lakes provides.”
Winners will be announced at a ceremony in Leeds on 11 November with more than a thousand people expected to attend.
Gary Verity, Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “Competition this year was so fierce that every business making it to the shortlist should consider it a huge achievement in itself as they have had to contend with some real quality competition. It’s always a close run thing, but there’s every chance they could go on and win one of these prestigious White Rose Awards.”
The winners of each category will also be entered into the national tourism awards next year.
