Popular Festival Administrator makes way for New Candidate

The Swaledale Festival organisers are looking for an enthusiastic person with a background in fundraising as their current administrator looks forward to retirement.
Retiring administrator, Margaret Murphy, has no plans to put her feet up though. She says: "I want to do more painting, more experimenting with kiln-formed glass and textiles, and spend more time with my grandchildren." She has been working part-time for the Festival, but during the Festival's box-office period, she says: “that can sometimes become eight days a week!"
"Margaret has been a terrific asset," said Festival Chairman, Nick Reckert. "She has a rare combination of organisational skill, calmness under fire, and enthusiasm for the arts. Musicians, funding bodies and Festival visitors all value her hugely, and she'll be a hard act to follow."
The group are looking for a successor, to start in January. "We recognise that it's not going to be easy to find someone who meets all our ideal requirements so, in line with the Festival's culture and ethos, we will be flexible and adaptable. We will find ways of providing training and skills development if necessary," continued Mr Reckert.
The Swaledale Festival takes place over two weeks in May and June each year in various locations around Swaledale, Arkengarthdale and Wensleydale.
