Rehearsals Start for Community Play "Blame it on Bartle"
Wednesday, Feb 12, 2014
North Country Theatre is starting rehearsals for the community play Blame it on Bartle which was postponed from last year.
On Sunday 16th February there will be a reading of the play and casting of parts between 2 – 5 pm in the Catholic Church Hall on Newbiggin in Richmond. Artistic director Nobby Dimon is looking forward to seeing people who expressed an interest last year and anyone else who would like to be involved in the production.
Taking part in a large scale community play is a unique experience, offering a rare chance for amateur performers to work with a professional writer and director, as well as play alongside professional actors and musicians. These can be tremendous learning experiences that can be really useful and the knowledge and insight gained can be used in their own work in the amateur sector. It’s also a fantastic opportunity to be part of a large cast and to perform in a number of different venues with a wide range of people from across the dales and from Richmond’s twin town of Vinstra in Norway.
“It will be a fun and a different experience and we’d love to hear from people who can commit to coming to rehearsals over the next few months and who will be available for the six performances. This epic production will be staged outdoors at Richmond Castle, Kiplin Hall, Grinton Lodge Youth Hostel and Bolton Castle between 9th and 19th July.”
