Youngsters Are Invited To Audition For Georgian Theatre Royal Pantomime
Wednesday, Jun 11, 2014
Boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 18 years are being given the opportunity to take part in one of the region’s most popular pantomimes.
Auditions for junior dance and chorus parts in the Georgian Theatre Royal’s 2014 pantomime – Puss in Boots – will take place at the Theatre, Victoria Road, Richmond on Tuesday 24 June at 5.00pm.
No previous acting or dancing experience is required just a lot of energy and enthusiasm. Participants will need to bring emergency contact details with them to the audition but otherwise all they need to do is turn up on the day.
The pantomime itself will run from December 6th 2014 until January 4th 2015. Rehearsals start in September and will be held on Monday evenings from 5.00pm – 7.00pm. Juniors will work in teams of six alongside the professional cast and will be required to take part in around 16 performances during the show period.
The Georgian Theatre Royal is renowned for its family pantomimes and this year’s production follows the phenomenal success of Mother Goose, The Adventures of Sinbad, Babes in the Wood and last year’s breathtakingly beautiful Cinderella, which had record audience figures.
Puss in Boots will be directed by Tony Lidington and produced by the Theatre’s professional in-house team. The junior chorus will be given extensive dance and singing tuition in the lead-up to the show.
The Theatre is also looking for as many parents as possible to put themselves forward as chaperones for the performances, making it a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to be involved in this fun, festive event.
