Breathing Space, a local charity which operates in Hambleton and Richmondshire providing leisure activities for people with Learning Disabilities and their Carers welcomed two new members of staff last week.
Francesca Evans (right) takes up the position of Manager and Linda Curran (left) is the new Development Officer. Chairman Ian Grange was thrilled to welcome the two new recruits, “We have two new staff whose skills complement each other and this will be a great benefit for the future of Breathing Space.”
New Manager Francesca said, “I am thrilled to be working with this fantastic organisation and look forward to getting to know everyone. We are holding our AGM next month and planning a sports afternoon too, so I hope to meet as many of our membership as possible that day.
“Breathing Space provides a very valuable support for Carers and gives people with Learning Disabilities regular access to sports and leisure activities. We have a small staff and volunteers and I look forward to being part of the team.”
And Development Officer, Linda who will be working to improve the organisations access to funding added, “Breathing Space is celebrating its 20th year but accessing the very important funds that it needs to operate is always a challenge.”
“But I hope over the next few months to find business sponsors and other funding to help with the amazing work the group is doing. The minibus and its ‘member designed logo’ is a familiar site around Hambleton and Richmondshire and high on the agenda is getting funding to get a new bus.”
The AGM takes place on 20 July at 1 pm at Northallerton Rugby Club and everyone is welcome. If you would like more information about Breathing Space or would like to a volunteer, help please contact the Manager by phone 01609 779420 or by email email@example.com
