The Richmond Live music festival held every year in Richmond North Yorkshire relies heavily upon various fundraising activities during the year being a non-profit making organisation run entirely by volunteers.
One such activity is the annual raffle which is held during the weeks running up to and during the event at the beginning of August.
This year an original piece of artwork inspired by the event and its picturesque surroundings was generously donated by local artist Caroline Hudson as the raffles first prize. The picture was kindly framed by the Showcase Gallery Richmond.
This year’s winner of the Richmond Live raffle first prize was Richard Woodcock of Harris Irwin Associates based at Aske. Harris Irwin are one of the many local businesses who support Richmond Live on a regular basis so it seemed fitting that one of their team won the first prize and Richard was thrilled to have won such a unique item.
Richmond Live volunteer and Raffle organiser Linda Curran added: “The raffle, like all the fundraising, is very important to Richmond Live. Without the generosity of people buying tickets, businesses advertising, the businesses who sell event tickets for us and the volunteers who help us Richmond Live would not be the fantastic community event that it is! The generosity of local artist Caroline Hudson and Showcase Gallery helped us to raise over £2000 which we have used to pay for the First Aid service at the event.”
