Favourite Performers Feature In Pantomime Cast Line-Up
The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond has announced the cast for its 2014 pantomime Puss in Boots, which will run from Saturday 6 December until Sunday 4 January 2015. Amongst the line-up are much-loved favourites from previous years together with a host of new talent.

Gary Bridgens – a well-known stalwart of Georgian Theatre pantomimes - will take the role of the Dame and the suave and sophisticated feline will be played by Jake England Johns who delighted last year’s audience as Buttons in Cinderella.

Also returning to the historic stage are Claire Marie Seddon who won hearts as the feisty Cinderella and James McClean who was one of the gruesomely ugly sisters.

New to this year’s pantomime are Caroline Hallam and Joseph Mann and the principal cast is completed with Katie Tranter. The chorus is made up of talented young performers that have become a mainstay of this popular family-style of pantomime.

Puss in Boots follows the phenomenal success of Mother Goose, The Adventures of Sinbad, Babes in the Wood and Cinderella that have all been the creation of Georgian Theatre Royal Productions. The same team will be behind this year’s production, including the show’s writer and director, Tony Lidington.

The script is written especially to suit performances in The Georgian Theatre Royal and its world-famous historic stage. As such, it utilises all of its unique features - from hidden trap doors to Juliet boxes - and makes the most of the easy interaction with the audience who sit only a few feet away from the action.

Daniel Bowater is returning as Musical Director, who is himself a multi-instrumentalist performer, composer and arranger, to provide the important musical dimension to the production.

Theatre Chief Executive, Warnock Kerr, said: “We are absolutely delighted with the line-up for this year’s show and are looking forward to bringing this popular tale to life. However, be warned, this is Puss as you have never seen him before. Our hero occupies the early rock and roll years of the 1950s and 60s and the audience can expect evil scientists, crazed robots and deliciously scary monsters!

“What you can be sure of though is all of the sharp banter, catchy songs, lively dance routines and good old-fashioned comedy that Georgian Theatre Royal family audiences have come to expect,” he added.

Puss in Boots runs from Saturday 6th December 2014 until Sunday 4th January 2015. Tickets are priced from £6 and are available from the box office on 01748 825252 or via the online booking service on the website: www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
