Wags Set To Entertain At The Georgian Theatre
The musical phenomenon that is the Military WAGS Choir Catterick will be raising the rafters at The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Saturday 15 November at 7.30pm.

Formed in April 2010 - to create a much-needed distraction for the ladies of Catterick Garrison as 4 Brigade was about to embark on a six-month deployment at the height of the war in Afghanistan - the choir has gone from strength to strength.

With some 50 members, it has performed at a huge variety of occasions, from small local gatherings to national events that have drawn crowds of several thousand. The choir recently performed at an event in Northampton to raise money for a new hospital chemotherapy unit.

The choir has also been a huge welfare success, the weekly rehearsals providing an opportunity for wives, girlfriends and service women to come together, support each other and have fun. The Catterick group was the first of dozens of other new military wives singing groups across the country. The Military Wives sparked a number one album and hit television series.
At the Richmond concert, the WAGS will perform a full repertoire of popular ‘feel-good’ numbers, songs from the shows and highlights from their recent album Harmonies for Heroes. In the second half of the programme, they will be supported by students from Richmond School’s Performing Arts Department who will showcase short drama pieces acknowledging the recent Festival of Remembrance and the centenary of WWI.

Musical Director, Carol Gedye, said: “This concert promises to be a fantastic evening that will be essentially uplifting yet also thoughtful and reflective. We hope that as many people as possible will join us at this wonderful venue.”

Tickets are priced from £6 to £15 and are available from the Box Office on 01748 825252 or via the online booking service at:
