Addisons Hosts Richmond Arts, Antiques & Jewellery Valuation Day
Henrietta Graham - Consultant with Addisons
Antiques experts from one of the North’s leading auction houses will be offering free valuations to anyone wanting to find out how much their prized possessions are worth at a special event in Richmond.

Addisons Auctioneers is hosting a valuation day in the Richmond office of its estate agency division in King Street on Tuesday 3 February from 10.00am to 3.00pm, following the huge success of similar events around the region.

Expert valuers from the auction house in Barnard Castle will be available to advise on all types of contemporary and antique objects, including jewellery, silver, ceramics, glass, pictures and sculpture. While there is no obligation to sell, any objects valued on the day have the option to be included in the next relevant sale.

Addisons first introduced valuation days at its Barnard Castle saleroom four years ago and they proved so popular that the auction house decided to hold outreach events in the surrounding area to enable more people to access this expert service.

“These ‘roadshow-style’ events provide an excellent opportunity for people to find out how much an object may be worth in a relaxed and no-pressure environment,” said Henrietta Graham - a consultant with Addisons who has previously worked for both Sotheby’s and Bonhams and will be providing expertise on the day.

“Everyone here really enjoys these events as you never know what will be put in front of you and we sometimes get some really unusual or valuable items. Often people are amazed by the value of some of the things that they own, especially if they have been inherited or they don’t know much about their origin,” she added.

If people do want to go on and sell any items then the estimates given on the day are used as a guide price at auction. If the piece doesn’t reach its desired price then it doesn’t have to be sold, putting the process firmly in the control of the seller.

“It is a really good incentive to have a clear-out of unwanted possessions and hopefully unlock some money at the same time,” said Henrietta Graham.

Valuations on the day are by appointment only so please call Addisons on 01833 690545 or email: to arrange a time.
