This May, Richmond Operatic Society are proud to present the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic 'Oklahoma!' at The Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond.
Set on America’s Western Frontier, against a background of conflict between farmers and cattlemen, Oklahoma! perfectly integrates song, dance and story to tell the tale of farm girl Laurey and the two rivals for her affections, happy go-lucky cowboy Curly and the sinister farm hand Jud.
This family favourite includes well known songs such as 'Oh What a Beautiful Morning', 'Surrey with a Fringe on Top', and 'Oklahoma!'. Directing for the society is Rhoda Fraser, who played the part of Ado Annie in the 1996 production opposite John Holliday as Will Parker. John is about to undertake the same role again, sixteen years later.
Oklahoma! is sure to be a fun filled evening, packed with song, dance and and romance. ROS are performing this classic from 16th-19th May at the Georgian Theatre Royal, Richmond at 7.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from The Georgian Theatre Royal Box Office on 01748 825252. Prices range from £6.50 - £13.50.
