Richmond Duo to Perform 17th Century Music at Easby Church
Friday, Jun 8, 2012
A concert to launch the CD of two Richmond musicians will be held at St. Agatha's Church, Easby this Saturday 9th June.
Susanna Pell and Jacob Heringman, who have lived in Richmond since 2007, will perform highlights from their new CD, 'Division-Musick, recorded at St. Agatha's in February.
American lutenist, Jacob, and English viola da gamba player, Susanna, have worked together at the forefront of the early music movement for 25 years. As soloists and members of leading ensembles they've appeared on over 100 recordings and performed in many major festivals and concert halls throughout the world.
The couple are now launching their new duo, Pellingmans' Saraband, to explore music from the late 15th through to the early 18th centuries performed on the rarely heard combination of viol and lute.
"This project has been not only an exciting launch but also a major first step in a new direction, toward locally-based music-making, firmly rooted in our adopted home in Richmond," said Susanna.
The concert will commence at 2pm with tickets costing £5 on the door and afternoon tea available.
