Local businesses are supporting Richmond attractions in this weekend’s Love Being Local scheme, with generous donations of gifts for a prize hamper.
Richmondshire residents get FREE admission to The Georgian Theatre Royal, The Green Howards Museum, Richmondshire Museum and Richmond Castle on Saturday (27 February).
As well as enjoying a great day out, they are in with a chance of winning a wonderful selection of goodies given by businesses in the town. These have been packaged together, along with contributions from the attractions themselves, to create a tempting hamper. Food, drink, jewellery and accessories, plus an array of money off vouchers are up for grabs.
Hidden in each of the five participating venues (which also include The Station) are details of a ‘Noted Local’ – a personality from the past who has left their mark on the town. Visitors need to pick up an answer sheet in the first venue they visit, find the Noted Local information at each attraction, write down the Noted Local’s name and get the staff or volunteer to sign it off. Once the answer sheet is completed, visitors should leave it at the last venue they visit and it will be entered into the draw to win the hamper.
“It’s great when everyone gets behind an initiative like this,” says Anita Lee, The Green Howards Museum’s Commercial Manager, who has been co-ordinating the collection of prizes. “We’re all hoping the day will be a fantastic success, bringing lots of residents in to visit our attractions and spend the day in town, having a great time and then telling their family and friends to come and see for themselves why they love being local!”
Many thanks to the following businesses for their support:
Duncan’s tea rooms
Love & Light
Lemon & Lime
Me & Mi
