Half Term Historical Fun at The Green Howards Museum and The Station
Tuesday - October 11, 2016
There’s a week of history based fun planned at two of Richmond’s best loved visitor attractions over the half term break.
The Green Howards Museum and The Station will host afternoons filled with finding-out, making and games each day of the holiday between 2pm and 3.30pm.
On Monday (24th), Wednesday (26th) and Friday (28th) the activities will be held at The Station. Monday’s session will involve finding out about the role the building played in keeping North East children safe during the Second World War, on Wednesday the focus shifts to flight, and the chance to design the perfect paper plane and fly it down the platform! Friday’s activity is Victorian Games; why not join in with a game of quoits or competitive bagatelle?
Events at The Green Howards Museum on Tuesday (25th) are ‘Marvellous Medals’, where everyone will be able to design and make a medal to take away, inspired by the display in our exhibition, whilst on Thursday (27th) ‘Sergeant Stanley’s Socks’ will look at uniforms and the interesting pieces of kit soldiers have worn and used throughout history.
Children must be accompanied by an adult at the sessions. Museum entry is free for under 16s.
