Guide to Richmond, Yorkshire - Richmond Tourist Information Centre
Richmond Tourist Information Centre is situated in Friary Gardens and is open seven days a week.
The TIC provides a wealth of local knowledge and expertise from friendly staff, together with a large selection of guidebooks, maps and quality, locally produced souvenir items.
After being saved from closure and now privately run by local businessman Mr Barrie Proctor, Richmond Tourist Information Centre also has a small cafe area where a choice of fresh coffees, teas and cakes can be enjoyed in comfort.
Senior Manager Hilda Ellis heads a team of over 15 volunteers who are able to provide a wide range of information about Richmond and the surrounding area including places to stay, places of interest, local events and event tickets.
Locally produced, quality souvenirs such as postcards and greetings cards, fridge magnets and keyrings, paintings and photographs and handmade walking sticks can be purchased in the TIC shop along with a selection of locally produced preserves and confectionary.
Richmond Tourist Information Centre is also the only stockist in the town of Cards for Good Causes.
