Highlights of the Year

    • Cllr Russell Lord elected as Mayor for the year 2004/2005
    • The Freedom of the town is given to Mrs Catherine Carr & the Baroness Harris of Richmond
    • Swaledale Masonry awarded Trinity Tower Contact and work is carried out on time and within Budget
    • The Market Hall interior is redecorated
    • The Norwegians visit as part of the Town’s Twinning programme with Nord Fron.
    • The seven yearly Boundary Walk took place in good weather with over 700 taking part
    • The Infantry Training Centre are given a Citation and they in turn entertain the Town with a Military Display in Richmond Castle
    • Donations & Grants to help Groups & Individuals in Town
    • The Mayor enjoys a trip on HMS Richmond from Portsmouth to Newcastle
    • The crew of HMS Richmond exercise their Freedom rights and are entertained by the Town Council

Mini Budget Report

The Total Estimated Income for the year £333,000 including a precept of £133,500 and a grant from English Heritage of £45,000 specifically to help meet the costs of the repair and refurbishment of Trinity Tower.

The Total Estimated Expenditure for the Year £340,000.

  • A contribution towards the CCTV
  • A contribution towards the Georgian Theatre
  • Part funding of the Richmond Sports Centre
  • Monies towards the Richmond Festival
