The Richmond Duck Club (RDC) is a private members club for men and women of and beyond working age
RDC was formed circa 1900 for the recreation of members an annual outing and, to hold an annual sport day for children of the town.This latter consideration for the welare of Richmondshire children.
It was later expanded into a chairable role "raising funding to actively support and encourage any child up to the age of 18 years old, with individual and common needs, who reside in the Richmondshire area.
Throughout the year, ad hoc events may be organized to fulfil the aims of the club, but curtain events are fixtures:
The Children's Sports on August Bank Holiday Monday:
The Duck Race on May Day
The Christmas Lights in Friary Garden
The Club also supports the Richmondshire Junior Sports Awards by awarding trophies to the best all-roumd all male and female athletes.
Only the Childrens Sports are sacrosanct.
