DUE TO THE ONGOING SITUATION WITH THE CORONAVIRUS, ALL RICHMOND WI ACTIVITIES HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED. OUR MONTHLY MEETING VENUE HAS CLOSED BUT WE ARE CONTINUING TO KEEP IN CONTACT WITH ALL MEMBERS.
UPDATES WILL BE GIVEN AS THE SITUATION CHANGES
Richmond WI meets in the church hall behind St Joseph and St Francis Xavier Church, Newbiggin, DL10 4DT, on the second Monday of the month at 7 p.m. There is no meeting in August. We usually have a speaker at the start at the meeting, followed by refreshments. We then give out details of any up-coming activities. In addition to the monthly meetings, we have a needlecraft afternoon, a walking group, a Mah Jong evening and coffee socials each month. We also organise other events as requested by members.
Visitors are welcome for a couple of meetings with no charge, so prospective new members can see what Richmond WI is all about. Any women aged 18 or over can join our friendly group. Annual membership for 2020 is £43.00, but new members joining throughout the year pay a pro rata rate, depending when they join.
We welcomed Bruce Hunter who gave us a very enjoyable and humourous talk on his early working life as a young vet in Scotland.
We welcomed Frances as a new member, and discussed our plans for the forthcoming months including coach trips and coffee socials.
