Contemporary, Creative and Collaborative

Antheia is a new contemporary flower club. A mix of flowers and fun with demonstrations, talks and hands on sessions combining flowers, textiles and design topics. Learn new skills and share existing ones. Aimed at beginners to the more experienced with something for everyone interetsted in contemporary floral art.

Antheia Flower Club is going into its third year with a programme showcasing innovative, creative and award winning demonstrators, an inspirational speaker and hands on workshops.
What's not to like!
So come along and join us for a year full of flowers and fun.

All meetings start at 7:30pm and are at Richmond Town Hall unless otherwise stated.

Annual subscription £40. Visitors £8 and everyone welcome at all events.

Wednesday 29th January
 AGM and Papercraft workshop.
Not your usual dull AGM - LUCY RICHARDSON, our current President, award winning florist and National Demonstrator treats us to a hands on floral papercraft workshop. Bring a jam jar!

Wednesday 25th March
SUSAN HALL from Saltburn by the Sea. Demonstration "MEMORIES"
Susan's demonstrations are a mix of traditional and contemporary design, with a  focus on colour. 

Saturday 25th April - Coffee Morning Fundraiser, Richmond Town Hall 9 -12.00.

Wednesday 3rd June
CARYS HARRISON from Kirk Hammerton, winner of Best in Show, Harrogate Autumn 2019 amongst other accolades, treats us to "BARKING MAD", A demonstration bound to strike a chord with some of us in the audience!

Wednesday 29th July
CAROLE WHICKHAM from  Barnsley, Florist and newly  qualified NAFAS  demonstrator, whose engaging style can be described as "quirky vintage" shares her interpretation of "THROUGH THE YEARS".

Tuesday 29th September - Open Meeting at The Georgian Theatre Royal with SEAN MURRAY,  "THE GREAT CHELSEA GARDEN CHALLENGE" Ticketed event
Sean, floral demonstrator, horticulturalist and winner of the  BBC 2's "Great Chelsea Garden Challenge" 2015 shares his skills and experience with the audience.

Friday October 9th - NIKI HAMPSON, Paper Making Workshop at Gilling West Village Hall - 10 spaces available for members.
Niki gave the club a fantastic demonstration last year of her papermaking skills. Now members get chance to have a go themselves! Cost and time TBC.

KIRSTY BERRIDGE from Scarborough - runner up in the BFA Young Florist of the Year 2012, silver medalist at Chelsea Flower Show 2014  gives us  a CHRISTMAS DEMONSTRATION

September Sensations - supporting British Flowers!

We have 2 events in September supporting our local British Flower growers.

Wednesday 5th September 7:30pm at Gilling West Village Hall DL10 5JG 

Caroline Beck is a garden writer for magazines such as Gardens Illustrated and House and Garden, and also runs Verde Flowers, a cut flower business near Durham where she grows more than 100 different varieties of flowers, herbs, grasses and shrubs for weddings and other special events.  Come and find out about what she grows, the New Romantic style embodied by the British Flower movement, and how you can establish your own cutting garden

Come and meet local grower and florist Sara Pringle from Meadow Lane Flowers who farms near Bedale. A member of the popular Flowers from the Farm movement, Sara will talk about her first year and demonstrate her skills with beautiful seasonal flowers

Wednesday 28th November at 7:30pm at Ravensworth Nurseries DL11 7HA.

Christmas Workshop to make a Natural Door Garland

Get ahead with your Christmas decorations! Come and join us at Ravensworth Nurseries to create a natural door garland.

You’ll be shown how to make both a wreath and a garland and then you can make your very own garland to take home.

All materials and refreshments are provided.

Cost is £15 for non members. Everyone welcome!
