Richmond Remembers

Venue: Richmondshire Museum

Jane Hatcher presents Richmond Remembers, a showing of a recording of the BBC2 TV programme made in 1985 featuring remarkable photographs of the town, commissioned in August 1945, by the British Council.

Intended for a travelling exhibition around war-torn Europe and overseas countries under the title The Life of an English Market Town, over 100 photographs were taken to show all aspects of Richmond life, scenery and streetscapes, farming and markets, schools and pubs, racehorse training and social clubs.
