“Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires.”

RADS present Shakespeare’s bloody and cataclysmic masterpiece, reimagined by The Georgian Theatre Royal’s Manager Clare Allen (directing for RADS for the first time) as taking place during the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. Set against a background of greed and ambition in a world of share-dealing and consumerism, this Macbeth is sexy and darkly comedic.

A prophesy places a thought in Macbeth’s mind which effectively guides him on the path to his own destruction, goaded and abetted by his ruthlessly ambitious wife: “What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our power to account?” Booze and debauchery at office parties preface murderous consequences in their cut-throat rise to the top…

Tickets cost from £14 to £17 and are available from the Box Office on 01748 825252 or online at: www.georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk
