Richmond's new orchestra presents a sparkling programme of music in its inaugural concert. Under their professional director violinist Philippa Mo, the best semi-pro and amateur musicians in the area have formed a high quality, pocket-sized ensemble.

The Richmond Chamber Orchestra is committed to giving interesting and appealing concerts in places where live classical music is seldom heard, and to offering a platform to outstanding young musicians.

Philippa Mo's reputation as an international performer continues to grow. Gramophone magazine praised her "faultless technique and unfailing insight", and recent tours have taken her to Australia, Brazil and China. Her previous recitals in Richmond have endeared her to Swaledale audiences.

Morvern Scrivener is from Richmond.  A prize-winner in the Scottish International Youth Piano Competition, she has competed in competitions based in Poland, USA and UK, played in conjunction with Radio 3 and has performed to Nina Bernstein for Bernstein’s Centenary.  She is currently a Choral Scholar at Cambridge University.
