Simon Yates: My Mountain Life

Simon Yates: My Mountain Life

What's On, Art, Talks & Workshops, Music, Film & Theatre, May

One of the most accomplished exploratory mountaineers of all time, Simon Yates is best known for ‘cutting the rope’ in the harrowing 1985 expedition to the Andes documented in fellow climber’s Joe Simpson’s bestselling book and later film and stage play sensation Touching the Void

Following that experience in Peru which turned both climbers into household names, Simon has been increasingly drawn to places where few others have trod. This talk features spectacular images and film from some of the most remote and rarely visited mountain ranges of the world. From the Arctic to the Antarctic and Alaska to Central Asia - there is hardly a significant range that Simon has not visited.
