Top up on treats & goodies from our Indoor and Outdoor Markets

Richmond’s Indoor Market is a true hidden gem, tucked just off the Market Place and brimming with local character. Inside this charming Victorian market building, you’ll find a treasure trove of independent stalls offering everything from everyday essentials to handmade crafts, vintage finds, delicious treats, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Each trader brings their own flair and friendly Yorkshire welcome, creating a space that’s as much about community as it is about shopping.

Whatever the weather, it’s the perfect place to wander, chat, and uncover something new. Many visitors pop in for a browse and end up staying longer than planned, drawn in by the warmth, variety, and charm of this special place. Whether you’re a local regular or discovering it for the first time, Richmond’s Indoor Market offers a shopping experience that’s relaxed, personal, and full of delightful surprises.

The Indoor Market is also home to the Richmond Information Centre, for all your information needs, plus a great range of books and maps.

There’s nothing quite like market day in Richmond. Every Saturday, the historic cobbled Market Place bursts into life as traders set up their colourful stalls for the much-loved Outdoor Market. Here you’ll find a wonderful mix of fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, clothing, crafts, and household items, all delivered with that unmistakable Yorkshire friendliness.

A much smaller market takes place on Wednesdays.

The market has long been a meeting place for locals and visitors alike, where you can enjoy the simple pleasure of shopping in the open air, chatting to stallholders, and discovering quality goods from across the region. It’s the perfect spot to pick up something tasty for lunch, find a thoughtful gift, or simply soak up the lively atmosphere with a coffee in hand.

Richmond’s Outdoor Market is more than just a place to shop, it’s a celebration of community, tradition, and local life. Come rain or shine, it’s always worth a visit.
