As night closes in Richmond lights up with legends and spooky storytelling. Explore the secrets hidden within our ancient walls in a host of activities for all the family. There’s something for everyone right across town from The Green Howards Museum to the Richmondshire Museum, from The Georgian Theatre to the Castle and Market Place. So come and join us in old haunts and new!

It’s all part of Richmond Presents After Dark – a week of spectacular spookiness right across town.

  • 26th-31st October:
    • Witches & Wizards at Richmondshire Museum. Spooky Trail, creative fun.
  • 28th October:
    • 1-3pm: Potions and Wands workshop for families (all ages) 
    • 5-6pm: Richmondshire Museum: Create Your Own Legend Workshop for families. Cruck House
    • 7-9pm: Georgian Theatre, Spectres & Spotlights – Stage Fright.  Age 14+
  • 29th October:
    • 5-7pm: Richmondshire Museum 5-7pm: Create Your Own Legend Workshop for families followed by Candlelit Tour of the Museum
    • 7-9pm: Georgian Theatre, Spectres & Spotlights – Stage Fright. Backstage Tour Age 14+
  • 30th October:
    • 8.30pm: Green Howards, Tales From Trinity Church. Cheese, wines, music and tales
  • 31st October:
    • Pumpkin Parade. Start from the Castle Entrance at 6pm and parade around Castle Walk back to the Market Place.
    • Duck Club Hallowe’en Party at the Comrades Club – 4-6pm
    • Hallowe’en Twilight Market – with spooky entertainment! Market Place 5-9pm
    • A Creep Through The Shadows with Time Will Tell Theatre.  8-10pm

After Dark is supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire and funded by York and North Yorkshire combined Authority
