The Richmondshire Concert Series returns from February to April with three great and contrasting offerings.

The Kleio Quartet (February 21) are a prizewinning ensemble rapidly establishing themselves on the international scene. Juliette Roos (violin), Katherine Yoon (violin), Yume Fujise (viola) and Eliza Millett (cello) have performed in major international venues such as the Wigmore Hall, Victoria Hall, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall, the DR Koncerthuset, the Black Diamond in Copenhagen and many others.  They will be performing Mendelssohn - String Quartet Op.44 No. 3, Kaija Saariaho - Terra memoria and Elgar - String Quartet.

The Piatti Quartet (March 21) are famed for their diverse programming and for passionate interpretations across the spectrum of quartet writing. They have commissioned and recorded some of the most major and impressive works added to the quartet canon in recent years. They will be performing Brahms – String Quartet Op.51 No. 1, Charlotte Harding – Iorsa, and Dvořák – String Quartet Op. 106.

The Little Song Party (pictured, April 11) are Penny Appleyard (soprano) and Jonathan Delbridge (square piano). Their programme explores the importance of music in Jane Austen’s life and her relationship with it, and includes music we know Jane played and sang herself - some being scores found in the Austen family music albums, often in her own hand. There’s also music and composers mentioned or alluded to in her novels, as well as soundtrack extracts from well-loved screen adaptations.

All concerts are at Richmond School, and start at 7.30pm.
