Diverting Bus Route

Many visitors to Richmond like to take the famous route which featured on BBC4's 'All Aboard! The Country Bus' broadcast.

In 2026, the service runs every Sunday until 18 mid-October. It now combines two routes: the 831 from Richmond to Hawes; and the 832 from Hawes, via Garsdale Head and Sedbergh, to Kirkby Lonsdale.

It is the 832's route which has now been altered, because of extensive roadworks, meaning the bus will run from Hawes via Ribblehead and Ingleton instead. Disappointing, if you particularly wanted to visit Sedbergh, but look on the bright side - you get to see the beautiful limestone valley of Chapel-le-Dale instead.

Outbound times are unchanged, but the return bus now leaves Kirkby Lonsdale at 15:30.
