Let's hear it for MayFest!

MayFest runs from Friday 3 to Monday 6 May and promises a full weekend of music, dancing and family fun.

Now in its third year, organisers say this year’s MayFest has even more to offer with a host of performers, living history in the Castle and other children’s entertainment, as well as markets with craft and plant stalls.

Events will take place in Richmond Castle, Richmond Town Hall and Richmond Market Place.

Events taking place in Richmond Castle are free for residents in DL9, DL10 and DL11 courtesy of English Heritage and there is free music and dance around the town, including the MayFest Mini Folk Fest on Saturday and Sunday afternoons in the Town Hall.

Highights include a Ceilidh with the No Lazy Dance Band on Sunday evening in the Town Hall; an Italian Tarantella Dance Workshop in the Catholic Church Hall on Sunday afternoon and a concert by the Richmondshire Choral Society in St Mary's Curch on Saturday evening.
