Richmond Amateur Dramatic Society (RADS) will bring the much-loved Discworld novel Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett to the stage at The Georgian Theatre Royal this summer, with performances running from 24 to 26 July and 30 July to 2 August.

Packed with humour, heart and a touch of absurdity, this fast-paced play follows Polly Perks, a young woman who disguises herself as a man to join the army in search of her missing brother. Along the way, she finds herself in the company of a truly unusual regiment — including a vampire, a troll, an Igor and more — each with their own secrets to hide.

The production showcases the impressive range of local acting talent, with a large ensemble cast of community performers bringing to life the eccentric and vividly drawn world of Borogravia. RADS has a strong tradition of delivering ambitious and high-quality shows, and this production promises no less.

With a witty and thought-provoking script adapted from one of Pratchett’s most popular novels, Monstrous Regiment is a celebration of courage, identity and challenging the status quo — all told with the signature Discworld satire.

Performances will take place at The Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond. Tickets and further details are available at georgiantheatreroyal.co.uk.
