This year's season of summer talks from Richmondshire Museum offers a great selection of subjects from knowledgeable local speakers.

Here's what awaits...

Friday 26th June - Photographic Memories of Richmond with Mike Wood and Brian Woodley presenting images of Richmond from the 19th and early 20th centuries, shown on original equipment of the day.

Tuesday 7th July is World Chocolate Day! What more fitting than award-winning chef Owen Moody hosting a chocolate workshop to inspire your creative skills...

Tuesday 14th July - The Work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Pat Burgess describes the worldwide reach of the Commission and its work maintaining cemeteries and monuments.

Tuesday 21st July - The Marske Estate 1592-1965. Local historian Stephen Clarke explores the origins of the Marske estate and the circumstances that led to its decline.

Tuesday 4th August - German PoW Camps in the Yorkshire Dales. Dave Durham reveals the network of camps and highlights stories of prisoners, including those who chose to remain after the war.

Thursday13th August - Behind Every Deed a Story: Property and People in Georgian Richmond. Dr Catherine Ryan shares findings from her PhD research on the North Riding Register of Deeds.

Wednesday August 26th: An Abomination of Desolation: Richmond Workhouse 1780-1968.
