Explore Richmond’s Rich History on a Guided Walk

History lovers and curious explorers are invited to discover the hidden stories and heritage of Richmond this spring and summer on a guided walk led by The Green Howards Museum.

Taking place every Wednesday from 23 April to 25 June 2025, these informative and engaging walks offer a unique opportunity to uncover the fascinating history of this beautiful market town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Starting at 2pm from the museum in Trinity Church Square, the one-hour stroll reveals the landmarks, characters, and events that have shaped Richmond over the centuries.

Led by knowledgeable guides, the tours promise an enjoyable experience for visitors and locals alike, shedding light on the rich tapestry of Richmond’s past—from medieval origins to military history and beyond.

The walks are suitable for all ages, although participants are advised to be mindful of the town’s naturally hilly terrain. Each session lasts approximately an hour and provides a great way to enjoy the town’s historic charm while getting some gentle exercise.
