Standing proud at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales, Richmond is one of Britain's most beautiful and vibrant market towns. With its iconic castle, fine historic buildings, sweeping cobbled market place and leafy riverside vistas, it is the original of no less than 105 worldwide Richmonds - all following in its ancient footsteps. As if this impressive pedigree is not enough, you will also find  a host of individual shops, tempting eateries and exciting cultural and heritage attractions to explore and discover.

Shop local, win big

Shopping locally can be incredibly rewarding, and with this year's loyalty sticker scheme offering 22 prizes - it's never been a better time to get out and support Richmond's wide range of businesses.

This year’s Original Richmond Business and Tourism Association’s  (ORBTA) Loyalty Card promotion is up and running.

Here's what you need to do:

  • pick up a loyalty card from participating businesses (look out for the window posters to see who's taking part)
  • add a sticker from six different outlets when you shop
  • complete the back of the sticker card and hand in to any participating business by 3 December

There is no limit to the number of cards you can enter into the prize draw, but the stickers on each card must come from six different ORBTA businesses.

Prizes include a £150 wine hamper (donated by Richmond Fire Engineers), £100 of vouchers to spend in ORBTA businesses, £50 voucher from Trinity Fashion, Sunday lunch at Cross View Tearooms and a £50 voucher for Ravensworth Nurseries.

Prize winners will be notified by Friday 10 December.

“By supporting local shops customers are helping to keep Richmond vibrant as well as having a chance to win one of the 22 prizes donated by our members,” says Marcia McLuckie, ORBTA Chair. “Richmond is rich in local, personally run shops, from butchers, delicatessens and greengrocers through to fashion, florists, gifts and home interiors as well as plenty of tea rooms, pubs and restaurants to complete your shopping day out. ”

ORBTA has more than 100 members in the town centre, Gallowfields Trading Estate as well as businesses a little further out of town. To find the full list of members and learn more about the benefits of membership, visit the ORBTA website.
