Woodlands - Ancient and Modern

Richmond Landscape Trust artist featuring at The Station

Another good reason to visit The Station over the next 2 week is Woodlands - Ancient and Modern. This exhibition is a collaboration between Kerry Dinsdale, photographer, and Liz Emery, felt artist.

Kerry photographs the world around her, taking nature photographs whenever possible. The Woodlands are of particular interest to her, she finds them mysterious and magical. 

Liz has also been exploring Woodlands both locally in Yorkshire, and more widely in Scotland and Nottinghamshire.  She works with Merino wool and silk fibres which she felts together using the wet felting method to produce pictures that retain the textural qualities of the different fibres.

Liz and Kerry have come together to combine two different mediums that reflect their shared interest the Woodland environment.

They were recently joined on the Platform Gallery by Richmond's Mayor, Clive World, and Mayoress, Niki Rutland, along with The Station Marketing Manager, Sophie Grufferty, to mark the first day of the exhibition.

Kerry is our neighbour at Richmond’s Indoor Market where she has a stall (every day - except Wednesdays) selling photos, crafts and clothing raising funds for Richmond's Landscape Trust.  We get to see her wonderful images as we pass on the way to the Information Centre desk so we can thoroughly recommend a visit to her exhibition.
