The Georgian Theatre Royal has announced an extended run of this year’s pantomime Cinderella following phenomenal early demand for tickets. The much-loved festive production will now run from Tuesday 2 December 2025 to Saturday 10 January 2026, ensuring even more families and visitors can enjoy what has become a cherished Christmas tradition in Richmond.

The extension comes on the back of exceptional pre-sales and growing national recognition for the Theatre’s unique pantomime style. Last year’s production, Treasure Island, was nominated for Best Script at the UK Pantomime Awards – a testament to the Theatre’s creativity and enduring appeal.

A cornerstone of the town’s festive season, the pantomime is widely seen as a highlight of Christmas for both local residents and those travelling from further afield. Each year, audiences return to the historic venue to enjoy a show that is packed with laughter, music, and heart – and Cinderella promises to be no exception.

Directed once again by Jo Mawhinney, the 2025 production will be full of the Theatre’s trademark fun, imaginative storytelling, and community spirit. It also promises the return of the now-famous knitted item.

“The Richmond panto holds a very special place in the hearts of so many families,” said Jo Mawhinney. “It’s part of their Christmas tradition, and we’re delighted to be extending the run so that even more people can experience the magic.”

In recent years, the pantomime has also become a key draw for visitors to Richmond, helping to boost the local economy during the festive period. With its blend of professional production values, local references, and inclusive spirit, it continues to stand out on the national panto scene.

Tickets for Cinderella are already in high demand and early booking is strongly recommended.
