If you're looking for ways to help out, or join in, make sure you pop along to an event designed especially with you in mind.
Lots of local organisations and societies are being represented at a get together on Saturday 12 August between 10am and 1pm (weather permitting).
It's being held on the curtilage area around Trinity Church Tower in the centre of town - the perfect place to demonstrate exactly how you can get involved at the very heart of Richmond.
"This is a great way to have a chat to people who are already part of our thriving volunteer and societies communities in the town," says Heather Lawler from Richmond Town Council who are organising the event. "If you have some time to spare, or a skill to offer, there's likely to be a club that would welcome your input. Similarly, if you are wanting to take up a new hobby or pastime, you will be able to get some inspiration about what's on offer on the day."
Can't make it on Saturday? You can also take a look at local clubs and societies in our LIVING section to find something to suit. If you're involved with a club which isn't currently listed, just get in touch by email: firstname.lastname@example.org and we can add you to the directory.
