Sales of Richmond’s Town Ticket have trebled this season thanks to the increased money-saving benefits that it gives to both locals and visitors.

The tickets unlock big reductions on admissions to Richmond’s four paying visitor attractions plus substantial savings and offers at selected shops and eateries within the town.

In July alone, three times as many tickets were sold compared to the same month in 2022 and sales are set to increase further as more businesses are coming forward to add to the offer. The Station Cinema recently announced a ‘two-for-one’ ticket deal and the Station Shop has just introduced a discount of 10% on all purchases. There’s room for more Richmond businesses to join the scheme with a discount offer.’

“The Town Ticket has always been excellent value but this year the overall saving on entry to the attractions has significantly increased as have the offers available elsewhere in the town,” said Fiona Hall, Communications and Commercial Manager at the Green Howards Museum and Chair of the Welcome to Richmond Group.

“This has been particularly appealing to the town’s visitors this season but savvy locals have also worked out that buying a Town Ticket unlocks a whole host of savings and the ticket quickly pays for itself and more,” she added.

Under the scheme, the ticket can be used for a single visit to each of the four pay-on-entry town attractions – The Georgian Theatre Experience, The Green Howards Museum, Richmond Castle and The Richmondshire Museum – which represents at least 30% saving on the combined admission. The ticket is valid between the beginning of April and the end of October.

Town Ticket holders also get a 10% discount on their bill at a number of cafes and restaurants in the town which can be used unlimited times during the 12 months from date of issue. Participating outlets currently include Tasty Macs, Rustique, and Sip, although menu restrictions may apply.

A number of shops – including Berber Leather, The Shop at the Station and The Green Howards Museum Shop – provide 10% discounts throughout the 12 months and the Station Cinema offers two for the price of one cinema tickets (single use and only valid for standard film screenings.)

Richmond businesses interested in being part of the scheme should email: hello@richmond.org

The cost of a Town Ticket is only £15 with a Group ticket (up to 2 adults and 3 children under 18) available for £45. They can be purchased from the participating visitor attractions and the Richmond Information Centre in the Market Hall.

Tickets are also available online where full information can be found on the participating attractions and offers.
